Today, we often encounter nature through photographs, books, and social media before experiencing it directly. Although these images are shaped by particular perspectives and acts of selection, their constant circulation gradually forms familiar ideas of what nature is. Yet nature is not a complete or fixed landscape. Rather, it is a relational process in which different beings, times, and environments continually affect one another.
To explore this, I collected images of nature from books, cut them apart, and reassembled them into collages. Familiar landscapes are fragmented and reorganized into new relationships, gently unsettling established ways of seeing nature. The installation extends this process into space. The collaged images are broken down into pixels and transformed into light and movement, reappearing as projections throughout the installation.
Rather than defining what nature is, this work asks us to reconsider how we have come to see and understand it.
